Get Involved

West Point Grey Community Centre is your Community Centre and there are many ways that you can get involved whether it is as a volunteer, an instructor, a board member, a Summer Day Camp leader or by simply picking up a OneCard, which is valid at all 22 community centres.

OneCard

With the OneCard you can access the entire network of Park Board pools, rinks and fitness centres. At West Point Grey Community Centre, the OneCard allows patrons to use the gymnasium and rooms during non-programmed time on a drop-in basis. Restrictions may apply.

Membership

Once you register for a program you become a member of the West Point Grey Community Centre Association and are eligible to participate in the Annual General Meeting. Memberships can also be purchased separately.

Volunteer

The most essential part of facilitating events at a community centre is the volunteer. Volunteering is a great way to get involved with your community. Opportunities are available for family events, daycamps, and assisting programs to name a few. It is a rewarding experience and offers the opportunity to create some new friendships within the neighbourhood and beyond.

Become an Instructor

We welcome program proposals from community members and interested instructors who have a specific skill or talent that they would like to share with our patrons.

Please review our current program offerings to ensure that you are not offering duplication of an existing program. Please ensure that the course that you are offering complements our current offerings. Submissions are reviewed by staff programmers for suitability, content, and space allocation availability. If your proposal is accepted you will be contacted by the appropriate programmer who will arrange the details of the programs with you.
